Katharine has written a wide variety of books on family life, many dealing with current challenges families face. These include relevant reads such as A Mind of Their Own, a book for parents looking to build their children’s emotional wellbeing and Left to Their Own Devices (now in its third edition), one for those who want to help their children navigate the advantages and pitfalls of the digital age.

Katharine has been a speaker with Care for the Family for over twenty years; touring the country with their most popular events on parenting and marriage. Her career with the charity started as marriage manager where she developed their marriage and couple relationship work, including pioneering The National Couple Support Network, which provided marriage preparation courses through the UK Register Offices.
As an established speaker she has addressed thousands of people across the UK as well as internationally; from being a regular voice on national and local media including BBC news and feature programmes, Radio 5, Radio 4; to speaking at parenting events for businesses such as Towerbrook Capital Partners, Royal Bank Scotland and Credit Suisse Banks.
Katharine Hill is a Director at Care for the Family. Prior to joining the organisation in 2004, Katharine practiced as a solicitor specialising in family law. For a number of years, she also ran a Legal Advice Centre in a socially deprived area of Bristol, and has also served as magistrate.
Katharine leads Care for the Family’s policy agenda, participating in Government Round Tables and in consultations on matters of family policy. She is currently an expert advisor to the Archbishops’ Commission on Families and Households. Alongside this she continues to speak both nationally and internationally, and writes stand-out books on family life.
She is a former board member for the International Commission on Couple and Family Relations, a trustee for The Relationships Academy and is a member of the Council of Reference for Time for Marriage.
